So conflicted right now.
Osama bin Laden is dead, after 10 long years. I don't know whether to be happy or upset...
All of America, actually, the entire world is cheering and celebrating the death of this person who plotted the 9/11 attacks. I don't know the entire story, but should the murder of a human being really be celebrated? Last time I checked, criminals were jailed and not killed. I know that no matter the truth behind this entire ordeal, the US military is still going to be able to defend themselves of their actions. But honestly, how can you just kill someone on the spot? What happened to fair trials? I mean, yes, he killed a LOT of people ruthlessly which affected numerous people and by no means do I take that lightly, but so do those "day to day" mass murderers. Why aren't they killed? What makes one human less human than another?
"Justice is served" - is it really? If justice was served, then, quite honestly, we would ALL be screwed. We would all be on the highway to hell. We would never even have a CHANCE going to heaven. Our God is a just God. Man sinned, and man shall go to hell. However, our God is also a merciful God. Man sinned, and man should have gone to hell, yet, Jesus was sent to die on the cross so we could live. "...whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
I guess this sidetracks us to the huge Calvinism-Arminianism debate. I am certainly no expert on this, but from the basics of what I grew up learning, everyone has the chance to get saved, if we just accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
So, so, so conflicted. It's hard to love your enemies when it comes to this, doesn't it?
