Thursday

Better late than never.

Welcome to a fresh start. :)

I love cracking open a brand new notebook. I love the smooth pages, the crackling of the spine, the smell of new paper. It leads you to a plethora of possibilities and questions - what are you going to do with this notebook? do you want to do this, or do you want to do that? You can write eloquent poems, scribble or jot down thoughts, take notes, or describe an intricate thought. So exciting.

Let me make this simple for you: my purpose of this blog is to explore love. I know, I know... LOVE. What is love? That's probably the most frequently asked question ever. :P Now before you start singing (yes, you!), I'd like you to pause and actually think about that for a minute.

I don't know the full answer to that question. Actually, I probably know less than I think I do. I have come to realize this, and that's the reason why I decided to start this exploration. Through these short 5 months or so, I've been learning that love can come in many different forms. I've been learning the weight of love. I've been learning what it means to fully appreciate love, and to not take it for granted. I've been learning that you must be humble to love. I've been learning the difference between the obligation to love, and actually wanting to love.

But why love? Well. If you're really stuck on this, check out the title of this blog. :) Sweet and simple! But there is enormous depth to it. "...because he first loved us". Because Jesus first loved us. Wow, God loves us. He loves us although we don't deserve it... at ALL. I am continuously dumbfounded by this... I find it absolutely mind boggling that he'd love something as sinful and prideful and unworthy as me. But he does. :) And that is what makes him so utterly beautiful.

So maybe you don't understand the depth of God's love, either. Maybe you want to find out, too. Let's learn how to love like Jesus loves together! I warmly invite you to join me. :)
